How I understand it - you aren't having a problem with what goes into your story, you just need to be reminded about unfinished things or continuity items that you need to touch upon. I know mine pops up with a little sound, reminding me to do stuff. To set reminders, you can use the calendar on your computer. I prefer paper, because it's all still there even when the computer has a fit. I only write and do research on comp, then save everything to 3 different places. I do mostly all of my structuring and outlining all that stuff on paper, just because I don't trust computers, and mine's an old piece of crap that could stop working any minute. You just need to get the hang of structuring.
Instead of using a computer program to do all the sorting, its just as easy to sort if yourself. Sweet, Dramatica pro sounds like it does a lot. ask yourself if you need it in the first place? What are your weaknesses? Do you need a novel treatment? Do you need a chapter by chapter plan? And because you can do as much or as little as you want, it would suit almost anyone's needs.īut. And it's so comples I could never do that myself: it considers your characters, their personalities, with the plot, themes, resolutions etc etc to come up with a chapter by chapter plan of the story. You do as much or as little as you want, from simple three word lines to paragraphs and paragraphs of informtaion. It asks a heap of questions and then generates an outline. I personally can't write plans to save my life, and this guides my planning. I don't know whether I'd pay hundreds of dollars for it, though, because I'm not exactly loaded and I've survived without it before. What's the RRP? I got mine for very cheap, through other means. Whether you should get it, or whethe it's worh the money for you, I really can't judge and I don't want to make that judgement. I think i was the last person to mention that I use Dramatica Pro This may not be the type of help you want or need, but thought I would share just in case it is of help. I find this easy for most stories, but if I'm working on something that has a lot of minor characters, I'll print that page out to keep near at hand for easy reference rather than having to pull that page up on the screen each time.

Plus the working copy of the ms of course. Anything dealing with the story goes into that folder: Character information, a description of the local, anything that might flash through mind that I want to remember for when I begin to edit.

When I'm at my lap-top (as now), I have it sitting on a rolling cart, so I have notes about this or that attached to the far edge of the cart.
On my desk top, I stick all kinds of reminders to the edges of my monitor because I can't hardly avoid seeing them. So why not use a post-it-note or something similar to remind you to check anything you need to check. One of my nieces also has that problem and she tells me she uses post-it-notes to help her remember lots of things.
